Hello Parents and Guardians,  

 

Welcome or Welcome Back to Foose Elementary School!  A school where students are busy “growing their brains” to high academic expectations and learning how to be excellent learners. Foose Elementary School strives to provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.  We teach our students how to follow the 3Rs (Being Ready, Being Responsible and Being Respectful) and the “Golden Rule” Treating others the way you would want to be treated! 

 

Please note the following: 

  1. The student's first day of school will be Wednesday, August 26th. Should you want your child to learn remotely and/or at home, you must register your child to HVLA (Harrisburg Virtual Learning Academy) immediately.  To contact HVLA, please call 717-703-4364 or visit: hvla@hbgsd.us.  

  1. For more information about our district’s dress code, please visit our district website at https://www.hbgsd.us.  

  1. Please do not drop off or allow your child to walk to school too early.  We do not have staff on site to supervise your child until 8:35 am.  School starts and doors open at 8:35 am and the Late/Tardy Bell rings at 8:50am. Breakfast will be served from 8:35am to 8:50am only. 

  1. The end of the school day is a hectic time in a school building. Therefore, we do not allow early pick-up/dismissal of students after 3:15pm. All students will be dismissed from school at 3:45pm. Please pick up your child on time. We only have staff until 4:05 pm to supervise the late pick-up of students. 

  1. Please make sure that your most current phone number is registered in our computer system here at Foose. If it is incorrect, please contact our Foose office (717-703-1280) immediately to have it changed to the correct telephone number. 

  1. All communications will be sent out via our Apptegy communication system, ClassDoJo, and our Foose Website - www.hbgsd.us/foose. Our Foose Website houses important information; such as, our school calendar, our Student/Parent Handbook, and all important Title 1 documentation. 

  1. If you have a child that will be 5 years old by September 1st, please make sure to contact Pupil Services at 717-703-4008 to register your child for Kindergarten. If your child is younger than 5 years old, please contact Fabiola Torres at 717-425-3055. She will help assist you in finding preschool programs for your child.

¡Bienvenidos o bienvenidos de nuevo a la Escuela Primaria Foose! Una escuela donde los estudiantes se ocupan de "desarrollar sus cerebros" para cumplir con altas expectativas académicas y aprenden a ser estudiantes excelentes. La Escuela Primaria Foose se esfuerza por ofrecer un entorno de aprendizaje seguro, inclusivo y acogedor. Por favor, tenga en cuenta lo siguiente:

  1. Por favor, no deje a su hijo(a) en la escuela ni permita que vaya caminando demasiado temprano. No contamos con personal en las instalaciones para supervisar a su hijo(a) antes de las 8:35 a. m. Las clases comienzan y las puertas se abren a las 8:35 a. m., y el timbre de tardanza suena a las 8:50 a. m. El desayuno se servirá únicamente de 8:35 a. m. a 8:50 a. m. 

  1. El final de la jornada escolar es un momento ajetreado en la escuela. Por ello, no permitimos la salida anticipada de los estudiantes después de las 3:15 p. m. Todos los estudiantes saldrán de la escuela a las 3:45 p. m. Por favor, recoja a su hijo(a) a tiempo. Solo contamos con personal hasta las 4:05 p. m. para supervisar a los estudiantes cuya recogida se retrasa. 

  1. Por favor, asegúrese de que su número de teléfono más reciente esté registrado en nuestro sistema informático aquí en Foose. Si la información es incorrecta, por favor comuníquese de inmediato con la oficina de Foose (717-703-1280) para actualizarla con el número de teléfono correcto. 

  1. Todas las comunicaciones se enviarán a través de nuestro sistema de comunicación Apptegy, ClassDojo y el sitio web de Foose: www.hbgsd.us/foose. En nuestro sitio web encontrará información importante, como el calendario escolar, el manual para estudiantes y padres, y toda la documentación relevante del programa Título 1. 

  1. Si tiene un hijo que cumplirá 5 años antes del 1 de septiembre, asegúrese de comunicarse con el Departamento de Servicios Estudiantiles (*Pupil Services*) al 717-703-4008 para inscribirlo en el jardín de infancia (*Kindergarten*).
