Dear Parents and Guardians,                                                      

Greetings, from the principal’s desk! I am Mr. Hicks and I would like to welcome all of our students and families to the upcoming school year. As we begin the new school year, I am excited to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome all of our new families to the Foose community. Our staff has been working diligently over the summer to prepare classrooms to ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for every student.

This year, we are committed to continuing our tradition of academic excellence while nurturing the social and emotional growth of all students. We will focus on fostering strong partnerships between home and school, because we know that when families and educators work together, students thrive.

I’d like to take a moment to reintroduce Mrs. Nicole Snook, Assistant Principal and Mrs. Shawn Tuttle, Special Education Supervisor who will be serving our Foose community once again this year. These dedicated leaders are here to support students, staff, and families. I  encourage you to reach out to them with any questions, concerns, or ideas. Their partnership will be vital as we continue to grow and succeed together.

The Harrisburg School District has updated the dress code for the new school year. You can find a description of what is and what is not approved on our district’s website.  All students are required to follow the new dress code guidelines.

Cell phones have become a distraction over the past few school years. To address this distraction, the district cell phone policy will be enforced starting the very first day of the 2025-2026 school year. All cellphones will be collected at the beginning of the school day. All teachers have lockable space to store student cell phones during the school day. Phones will be returned at the end of the day.  If you have any concerns with this policy, please reach out to me, so we can discuss your concerns.

Our school office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Should you have any questions, please call or swing by the office.  Our first day of school is September 2nd and we start our school day at 8:35am. Our Open House will be on August 28th at 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Until then, continue to have a safe and fun summer!
